Small but
beautiful is an appropriate description for the delightful 17th
Century premises from where Andrew Lamputt, together with his wife,
Linda, and their highly skilled team, provide a specialised service
that attracts custom from near and far.
Situated
in No 28 St Owen Street, the charming discreet shop frontage is
almost obscured from view, nestled between two larger, modern buildings.
Only the swing sign, carrying Andrew Lamputt (Silversmith &
Jeweller) is clearly visible, hence the term, Hereford's Best Kept
Secret'. Even today there are local people unaware of this jewel
in the crown of Hereford's existence!
QUALITY
IS OUR HALLMARK
A
family-run silversmith and jewellery business of considerable repute,
now in it's 17th year, Andrew learnt the trade firstly from his
predecessor, whom he joined in 1972, and secondly through his own
desire to absorb and acquire as many qualifications as possible.
Here, traditional
methods have long been used to provide a very specialised service
for their customers. Over 80% of their work is undertaken in-house
to include silversmithing, antique jewellery restoration, polishing,
remaking and valuations.
VALUATIONS
As
one of around only 550 registered retail valuers in the country
who have attained the high standards laid down by the Valuation
Committee of the National Association of Goldsmiths, Andrew is well
qualified to give professional valuations on estate jewellery and
silver and of course individual items, which, for insurance purposes
often necessitate a professional valuation.
STEP
INSIDE
Acknowledged throughout the county and far beyond as quality Silverware
& Jewellery Specialist, stepping through the door o 28 St Owen
Street, reveals far more than meets the eye from the exterior.
Deceptively
spacious within, customers enjoy not only a warm greeting from the
discerning, highly trained staff but fine selection of silverware
to suit all tastes, occasions and purses. In fact Andrew Lamputt
boasts the best selection of silver, West of Warwick.
Here, traditional
methods and old fashioned courtesies blend with up-to-date technology
and security to provide a comprehensive silverware and jewellery
service that is hard to equal.
RAISING
THE PROFILE
Much
could be written about this very professional silversmith &
jewellery shop where staff are both highly skilled and friendly.
Sufficient perhaps to say, that Andrew Lamputt, along with other
organisations and businesses in this country, are successfully placing
the city of Hereford and surrounding areas very firmly and prominently
on the map.
